Backpacks & More Project


What is it?

Backpacks & More is a collaborative community event serving students in the southwest valley who are in need of school uniforms, backpacks, and school supplies to start the new school year off right. 

How do I sign up?

Sign-ups are held during the month of May on the following dates and locations:

Agua Fria Food & Clothing Bank | 405 E Harrison Dr | Every Wednesday in May  | 9am-12pm

The Salvation Army | 11 N 3rd Ave | May 20th-24th | 1pm-5pm

Care 1st Avondale Resource Center | 328 W Western Ave | Wednesday, May 15th and 29th | 5pm-7pm

How do I get involved?

There are many ways to get involved in this great event:

- A $40 donation will sponsor a child, providing them with 2 new shirts, 2 new pair of pants, and a backpack with school supplies. Donations can be made  by clicking the Donate Now button below or by checks made out to the Agua Fria Food & Clothing Bank and mailed to PO Box 845 Avondale, AZ 85323.

- In kind donations of school supplies can be dropped off at AFFCB Avondale or Palm Valley Church.

- Volunteers will be needed to sort uniforms, stuff backpacks, and to distribute on Saturday, July 27th. For more information on volunteering, call 623-536-2106
